Hello Friends,
It's been a while since our last email... We've been BUSY BUSY launching J. J.'s investment management and financial planning practice. Between monitoring the markets, on-boarding clients, and marketing the practice, there isn't much time to spare!! If you follow us on social media, you know we've been busy on the book side of the house too... We've just been a little slow on our emails.
Since it's been a while, this email is a little longer than normal.
Here is what's new in our Teaching Kids To Buy Stocks world:
J. J. had two great sessions of online "Personal Finance for Teens" classes in May and June. Thank you to all of the families who participated and especially those who gave feedback. He had such a blast with the kids and from what we’ve heard.. the kids loved him too.
We getting ready for another round of classes soon. If you have a teen that is interested, please reply and let us know! We cover a number of important topics, including... Money Psychology, Budgeting, Borrowing, Saving, Investing (Bonds, Stocks, Real Estate), Insurance, Taxes, College & Career, and more.
This young man (pictured to the right), Wyatt, is the grandson of our neighbor in San Clemente, CA. He’s young... but is an avid reader so she bought the book for his birthday. He gained enough interest and knowledge that his mom had him meet with their financial advisor as he wanted to start his own brokerage account.
These posts of kids who love the book NEVER GET OLD!! As you probably know, it isn't a kid's book, but so many kids and teens have loved it anyway! Thank you so much to his Mom, Ann, for sharing Wyatt’s story.
On the topic of amazing kids... We recently met this next young man over Instagram.
It has a stock simulator that supports 7 global markets with key stocks and prices that are refreshed hourly. The markets are localized based on the “country” selected by the user.
Best of all... it’s FREE to download!! You can find it on the Apple App Store or Google Play by searching mRush.
One more thing...
Our good friend Sammie Fredericks, aka "The Teacher Mom", is a children's author whose books help teach financial literacy to young children. Her primary goal is "to help parents start the conversation about money in a way that is fun and easy for young children to understand." That's a goal we can get behind!!
Sammie just had her second book come out, titled Spending At The Fair. You can order it by clicking here.
You can find her first book, Grandma's Special Gift on Amazon by clicking here.
That's all for now! Thanks for reading!
With gratitude,
Jodie and JJ
